AUTUMN WINTER
Suited to Paris
Trouser suits have been dominating fashion and there is no end in sight.
We understand why; they are smart, flattering, and can be worn for a number of occasions from work to special events to just staying warm and stylish for an outing. Our Boiled Wool Jacket and Pant are made from 100% merino wool in a versatile and alluring Ink colour.
Elegance avant-garde
This line is all about silky fabrics and aesthetic designs.
Made from a luxurious blend of cotton and silk, this blouse was inspired by the beauty and craftsmanship of La Brocante de la Rue de Bretagne. The relaxed fit and shirt-tail hem offer an artistic feel that compliments the abstract design of this collection’s Bretagne print, reminiscent of the aurores boréales.
In a puffer, versatility is essential.
Puffers have to suit a variety of outfits and changing temperatures; so we designed ours to adjust to you. Made from recycled materials with a soft, warming feather and down wadding. It is reversible with a detachable hood and faux-fur trims. Style it in black or with this collection’s Bretagne print.
A French antique market guide to Rue De Bretagne
Twice a year Rue De Bretagne becomes a buzzing sea of white tents. The atmosphere is full of excitement as vendors and patrons from all over France and beyond bargain over prices at one of Paris’ biggest brocantes.
Here’s a brief guide to the open-air market that inspired this collection—where to go and what to expect:
The where and when
Twice a year in May and November, From 7am to 7pm, La Brocante de la Rue de Bretagne is centred around Square du Temple and follows Rue de Bretagne and Rue Perrée, weaving through Rue Eugène Spuller, Rue Debelleyme, and Rue Caffarelli. The square in front of Mairie de Paris Centre is also reserved for children under 15 to sell their toys, books, games, clothes and more in their own little market.
Square du Temple, 64 Rue de Bretagne, 75003 Paris
Les marchandises
The vendors range from locals to professional dealers so you can expect a wide variety. One of the most popular attractions is the furniture ranging from 1950’s to 1970’s style that is still very much in vogue in Paris. That era is lush with the natural forest tones found in this range.
Among the homeware you’ll also find lighting, and design objects as well as paintings. Some of the best bargains can be found among the kitchen ware. We were particularly drawn to the abstract paintings that led to our newest print.
There are also vintage books and postcards, which can be bought as cheap souvenirs. And, of course, notre préféré—tent upon tent of vintage Parisian clothing, including designer brands.
Les meilleurs prix
After you’ve sufficiently explored, if there was something you loved that was above your price range, come back on Sunday at 4 pm, before the repacking and you will be in a stronger position to bargain for a lower price. Just be careful not to go too low or the vendor may not take your offer seriously. Most importantly, have fun and bons achats!
Cloud feel
Enjoy the chic comfort of breathable fabrics.
As a natural fibre, merino wool is not only wrinkle resistant, but also a climate regulator. So you don’t have to worry about predicting the weather, just slip it on and look très chic. We chose a bright Chartreuse for this poncho that picks up the Bretagne print. Pair it with this collection’s lined Cashmere Feel Bengajean® for the ultimate cosy duo.
