Letter from The Creative Director

Bonjour,
Our exploration of the south of France continues with our beautiful new collection, Nice. As a destination, Nice holds a special place in my heart. It’s a place where colourful markets meet beautiful beaches and the sun always seems to be shining

As we welcome the warmer weather, say bonjour to this fabulous springtime collection with its stunning floral prints, nautical feel, and a colour palette bursting with fresh colour.

I’m particularly enjoying the bright Lime and pops of Pink that give this collection its vibrant personality. Bienvenue à Nice!

Bisous,

Donna - Creative director signature

Voyager, c’est vivreTo travel is to live.

This week we give you an insider’s guide to making the most of a 48 hour stint in Nice. Let’s be honest— there’s are lots of spectacular things to do in this beautiful town, like experiencing the breathtaking coastal views, the vibrant jazz scene and, of course, it’s unique art galleries. We could happily spend weeks there (and highly recommend taking your time if visiting) but, if you’re finding yourself limited for time, or on a tight schedule these are the absolute essentials for anytime of year. (You can thank us later!)

DISCOVER THE OLD TOWN

The Old Town of Nice or Vieux Nice, is made up of narrow streets with tall, colourful tenement houses. At street level, Old Town is bursting with restaurants, shops and the galleries of local artists. Allow yourself to be transported to a bygone era with Provencal spices, handmade jewellery and cosmetics.

ENJOY A BRUNCH ON THE GO AT THE FLOWER & FOOD MARKETS

LeMarché aux Fleurs Cours Saleya outdoor market offers a myriad of fresh produce and delicious Niçoise cuisine, an absolute must for anyone visiting the French Riviera. Flanked by pastel-coloured historical buildings, delight in one of the most picturesque markets in France. Vendors sell fruit and vegetables, nuts, olives and more from underneath colourful striped awnings.

BE INSPIRED AT THE MATISSE MUSEUM

Le Musée Matisse is devoted to the work of notable French painter Henri Matisse. One of the largest collections of his works, this museum traces Matisse’s artistic beginnings and the evolution of his vibrant career.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN NICE’S VIBRANT JAZZ SCENE

Home of the Nice Jazz Festival, Nice is a town that knows how to swing! From the most established jazz clubs to the tiniest of venues, enjoy a relaxed evening of music.

TAKE AN EARLY MORNING STROLL ALONG LA PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS

La Promenade des Anglais is a lively, iconic seaside promenade in Nice. Stretching across 5 kilometres, it was paid for by the English aristocrats who came to Nice in the 18th century to enjoy the health benefits of the local climate. Stop at a café for a drink and a pastry and feel the calming benefits of the ocean views across the public and private beaches. Early birds will enjoy the exquisite sunrises.

SPEND TIME AT CASTEL PLAGE BEACH CLUB

This stylish and modern seaside restaurant and private beach is just a stone’s throw away from the Old Town at the eastern end of La Promenade des Anglais. Serving up delicious Provencal cuisine and Mediterranean dishes, Castel Plage will conquer the hearts of epicureans.

INDULGE IN AN OBLIGATORY SALAD NIÇOISE

Tuna salad, the French way! No visit to Nice is complete without this summery dish.

ENJOY THE VIEW FROM CASTLE HILL

Take time away from the bustle of the city and enjoy a panoramic view of Nice and the Mediterranean from Castle Hill. Its beautiful waterfall is not to be missed.

The whole future of art is to be found in the south of France.Vincent Van Gogh
