This collection was inspired by the one and only Coco Chanel. During our time in lockdown we thought of Paris and all the famous muses we have used over the last 30 years, and it was then that we thought a tribute to Coco Chanel “Blue Illusion Style” would be relevant. We imagined a fresh, casual take on Coco’s looks, including our version of the tweed jacket featuring shiny brushed silverware. We also included our new Bengajean® Frenchie, and a lace shirt with a go-or-not-go-anywhere look! The abstract animal print illuminates the styles, and a new steel blue colour will light up your day. Enjoy, and as Coco would say: “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”.
Bisous,
This winter we have an exciting new-look Tweed Knit Jacket, featuring a twist in colour with both ink and black yarn (perfect). The jacket features brushed silver buttons and is designed to be worn open as a simple layering piece to take you anywhere. We have styled this back with our season-highlight lace shirt, which can be worn tucked in or out, together with the Bengajean® Frenchie. This new style of Bengajean® is skinny leg with a soft cashmere-feel denim, high waist, and a seamless flat elastic waistband.
“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress. Dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” (Coco Chanel)
The new abstract animal print can be worn day or night. The Animal Print Dress has a flowing swing shape and cross-body waist tie and really is a dress to remember. Pair it with our beautiful Gabrielle Kitten Heel and some of our freshwater pearl accessories for an impeccable outfit.
Also available in the animal print are the Twist-Neck Jersey Top and the Silk Blouse, perfect for an office look that moves into evening wear. Pair the look with the new 7/8 Button-Back Ponte Pant, in classic Chanel black.
Our Cowl Neck Cable Knit comes in a natural speckled-pearl tone. This classic knit pattern features a soft, comfortable cowl neck, in a wool/cashmere blend that will keep you luxuriously warm this season. Pair it back with our new Francesca Leather Tote Bag and our Howard Whipstitch Loafer for a cool casual look.
The myth that Coco Chanel brought stripes to French fame goes a little something like this: Coco was on vacation in the south of France when she was inspired by the French sailors and released a ‘nautical’ collection in 1917, putting the marinière stripe on the map. The rest is history! There is nothing quite so French as the Breton stripe, a cute beret, or a polka-dot silk neckerchief.
If we didn’t have something in classic black then it wouldn’t have been inspired by Chanel. The Stepped Hem Wool Cardigan is a brand-new cardigan style for Blue Illusion, made from 100% merino wool. Pair it with the Check Skinny Pant and a classic white tee, in effortless Parisienne style.
